The De Nardi team member held off a furious charge in the end
to take the 52 km stage in a grueling race that ended in the
Northeastern town of Trieste. His riding was also powerful at
the mountain stages, so he earned 3rd place in stage 18. Honchar
finished the Giro a solid second giving the De Nardi team a
great boost.
