Team Spine Wins Two National Championship Titles
Masters National Championships 2004
Park City, Utah
Team Spine riders earned stars-and-stripes jerseys and placed their names in the permanent records of cycling history, with victories in the Mens 35-39 Road Race and the 50-55 Criterium. In addition, all Team Spine members attending this National Championships placed in the top 10 in at least one race, one Spiner won the Best All-Around Rider title, and the team took four podium spots in one weekend.
Michael Hutchinson, the 2003 North American Masters Champion and 2004 District Criterium Champion, powered through a two-up sprint in the competitive 35-30 road race, which wound through the high-altitude Utahmountains.
Powerhouse Mark Caldwell scored a decisive victory in the 50-55 Criterium, after an aggressive day. He has been quoted about his win on theUSACycling.org and other Web sites.
Wayne Puckett and Michael Brown, District TT threats, shared a tandem for the first time, one with no special aero' components, yet rocketed to a 5th place finish in the 70+ combied category. Brown later entered the 90+tandem road race and was well on to the way to victory when an official directed them off-course and another team snuck ahead, leaving Brown in 2nd place.
Congratulations to all our Team Spine members!
