Panaracer Gravelking: the Official Tire of Utah’s Crusher in the Tushar

The Panaracer Gravelking will be the official tire of the 2016 Crusher in the Tushar. Billed as Utah’s toughest single day race, the epic and mountainous event has become known as a true test of rider and equipment. Already garnering a reputation for their resilience, smooth ride characteristics and reliable traction, the Gravelking will be the official tire of the event. The with two tread options, either slick or small-knobbed, and a full range of sizes, the Gravelking will hold up to the gamut of conditions found at the Crusher. With so much individual choice in equipment, Panaracer has created a tire that will suit any need.

The Crusher in the Tushar was founded six years ago by Burke Swindlehurst. A native of the area, Burke realised his dream of a race through his home roads would only become a reality if he promoted the race himself. Renowned for the huge amount of climbing, the Crusher is always preceded by weeks of speculation on equipment choice. Being equally inappropriate for cyclocross, mountain, and road bikes, the race has attracted varied tire choices, from wide cyclocross treads all the way to mountain bike tires. The Gravelking range runs the gamut of sizes, from the 25c slick version, all the way to the 40c small knob (SK) version. The range of tires created by Panaracer will suit every rider and bike that toes the line this July.    "There are plenty of aspects surrounding "Crusher" preparation that spark debate, but none are as fierce as that of tire selection.  Panaracer's extensive GravelKing series line of tires can now put the debate to rest. The Panaracer GravelKing SK in particular has just the right blend of puncture protection, volume and the perfect mix of tight knobs in the center for minimal rolling resistance coupled wider outrigger knobs for control to conquer anything the Tushars can throw at a rider. Case closed. I'm thrilled to welcome Panaracer as the Official Tire of the Crusher!" - Burke Swindlehurt, Race Director
